More and more fleet managers are choosing autogas to fuel their vehicles due to its cost-effectiveness, eco-friendly properties, and safety performance. This green fueling option is suitable for use in combustion engines. It is more economical than traditional fuels like gasoline or diesel fuels and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 22% throughout the full fuel cycle.* Propane produces 43 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than using an equivalent amount of electricity generated from the U.S. grid.*
At Industrial Propane Service, Inc., we are industry leaders in providing expertise for autogas systems. As the world continues to shift towards more sustainable practices, IPS is here to help. We specialize in the installation of autogas dispensing infrastructure and equipment sales to reduce costs for fleet managers and reduce harmful emissions for everyone.
Autogas dispensers come in many different shapes and sizes across the propane equipment industry depending on the manufacturer. Similar to traditional fuel dispensers, autogas dispensers are equipped with a hose and nozzle. To fuel a vehicle, operators simply attach the nozzle to the connector on the vehicle. At each fueling site propane is stored in above-ground or underground tanks in liquid form. Unlike the petroleum industry, LPG pumps are not located within the fuel dispenser. In the LPG industry, a “pump” is a component in an autogas system that supplies the dispenser using above or below ground piping. Properly sized for each autogas installation, LPG pumps are installed in close proximity to the storage tank.
IPS provides several Gilbarco and Gasboy model dispensers upfit for LPG dispensing. Appearance, payment options, fleet data tracking pump authorization methods as well as dispensing performance are very similar to the gasoline and diesel dispensers we see every day.
One of the advantages of properly designed propane autogas dispensing systems is that they are quite scaleable to their level of usage. Once the cost savings and benefits of autogas are realized, Fleet managers will often see a need for increased fueling capacity at their site.
IPS manufactures propane autogas dispensers that meet the codes of federal and fire safety regulations. All of our autogas dispensers meet the following specifications:
