Benefits of Blackmer Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Products

Propane systems must be able to load and unload product, transfer it, evacuate tanks, and recover vapors quickly without compromising safety. Blackmer pumps offer these systems several benefits, including:

  • Cavitation suppression liners in every unit to minimize vapor bubbles due to NPSH deficit
  • Efficient loading and unloading systems in stationary assemblies
  • Components for complete tank evacuation for easier cleaning and product management
  • High-speed transfer pumps
  • Vapor recovery systems that meet or exceed regulatory requirements

The experts at IPS can identify and meet your facility’s needs and determine the best Blackmer solutions to maintain efficiency, safety, and profitability.

Types of Blackmer Pumps IPS Carries

IPS distributes Blackmer sliding vane and regenerative turbine pumps.

Sliding Vane Pumps

Sliding vane pumps use positive displacement to discharge fluid at the desired flow rate and pressure level. They feature a rotor with vanes that slide in and out of individual slots as the rotor turns. The vanes pull liquid into the pump chamber at the inlet, then transfer the liquid to the outlet port as each vane slides out of its slot, pushing the liquid toward the outlet. Constant volume and pressure are maintained.

Instead of gear pumps with teeth that wear away over time, the vanes self-adjust by sliding farther out of their slots in order to maintain speed and pressure, for a long service life with less maintenance. The design is self-priming, which can make operations much simpler, and the pump is designed for minimal fluid turbulence and slippage.

Regenerative Turbine Pumps

Blackmer’s Ebsray® RC series of regenerative turbine pumps, also called peripheral or centrifugal pumps, features an impeller disc with a series of small cells around the outer edge. Liquid fills the cells as the impeller turns inside a channel. The centrifugal force from the impeller causes the liquid to fly out and through the outlet port. This design creates a significant pressure increase, even for low-flow fluids. These pumps are also quiet and long-lasting for consistent operations over time.
